I love the arguments, god is a man-made idea (ie, doesn’t exist) and Homosexuals ‘chose’ to be gay the same way a person who wanted blue eyes looked at the sky.

Did I not already tell you that we don’t know how the universe was created? Of course, it’s not like disproving the big bang would prove anything else other than that the big bang theory is wrong.
If your god actually did exist, I doubt he would have made his book of truth so difficult to understand throughout the ages. And think about this, he would know that, being an omnipotent being. So if you are going to try and interpret your Bible differently from what it says, then you are effectively providing evidence against the truth of Christianity. On the other hand, a clear Bible does not denote that existence of god, (as a human could have made a book clear as well)

Lol. Hey if your idea of studying something is purely looking at the surface without considering cultural relevance then go for it. I just want you to at least consider what lies beneath the surface. Similar to your telescope, where did what you are looking at originate, what are the chemical properties, ect.. All things your telescope can’t answer.

I don’t see how that’s faith? A telescope means you can observe something. If I see a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, do I have to have faith to say that a little worm thing turns into a chrysalis and comes out as a winged insect?

It says what it says and that’s what it says. Don’t get started on stupid Bible interpretation crap that’s designed to twist words into something they’re not.
What’s funny is that whenever a Christian is offered a look at scripture which is barbaric, they immediately say it means something else, but if there are exact words that support their position, they feel free to use its blatant definition.
“Cultural relevancy” has nothing to do with this. Seeing that they are supposed to be god’s words (or god’s words to Matthew), and that god’s words apply to everyone forever, using such dumb excuses is not going to get you anywhere.
You are using a double standard as well, you say that I cannot understand anything in the Bible while it’s as pristine as clear water to you! Arrogant hmm?
It’s online, not everyone uses their name. Get over it.

I like my Christ too, but am offended/embarassed by what many say and do/have done in the name of Christianity.
