I would like to also add, that according to the priest (catholic church) of my former church when I was younger, you can get into heaven if you followed the letter of the law, but not actually be a good person. In fact, being a good person has nothing to do with getting into heaven. But, of course, you’re suppose to not care about getting into heaven while you’re doing thing that get you into heaven. -_-

I had been hearing a lot of gruesome stories about child abuse at the time, both from friends of ours who were foster parents and also from watching the news. In the face of all of this, we were singing “Jesus Loves the Little Children” in Sunday school every week. Finally I guess the cognitive dissonance was too much for me and I said to my mother, very bitterly, that it seemed to me that Jesus in fact hated the little children. She was mad that I said it but also too deeply upset to really give me a real punishment.

There is still quite a bit you have to get right to ensure that you don’t go to Hell and, really who can reasonably expect a being like God to hold up his end of the bargain if he decides not to? He is in a position to change the Terms and Conditions of the Agreement at any time and Without Notice.
