Knowledge-Based Education – We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.

A Modest Proposal is only funny to a few? We read that in both high school and college English classes and practically everyone in both classes loved it.

My high school English teacher silently handed it out to us and sat at her desk watching as we read, waiting for us to look up in shock and horror. That was pretty funny too, especially since a lot of people (if not most, especially at that age) can’t tell if things are satire unless someone tells them.

I’m toying with unsubscribing myself. I get satire perfectly well (I’m from British-land, don’t yer know, old bean); it’s just that I prefer when it’s funnier.

Besides which, there’s such a thing as outrage exhaustion from too many Poes. Too much of this and there’s a chance I won’t bother fighting actual Godidiocy.
